L’Oréal does its utmost to ensure that its suppliers respect basic human rights, notably the International Labour Organization's international labor law rules (social, health, and safety), and has strengthened its approach through a reference guide and a methodology aimed at monitoring its community of suppliers.
• In 2007, the Group sent a questionnaire to more than 600 of its audited suppliers so that the audit procedure could be improved in light of their comments.
• L’Oréal also led more than 10 workgroups in order to develop a new code of conduct intended for its suppliers. It is planned to be introduced in 2009.
• Analyzing the causes of supplier non-conformity with our social responsibility requirements is a priority for the group.
